Natalia Estemirova was kidnapped in Chechnya today, her body perforated by bullet wounds was later found in Ingushetia.
I suppose the issue isn't what is right or wrong, it isn't Medvedev or Kadyrov or the legacy of Anna Politkovskaya, but rather the entirely absurd notion of having to imperil your life in order to have an opinion. Russia is a rickety machine in many ways, but fairly modern after all. And still, it is far too easy to abduct and kill someone just because they might unearth information about your own dirty conscience.
