Tonight I've been at this wonderful concert. Cuban-Russian duet "In-Temporalis" played in the Russian embassy and the room was filled with people and spongy Russian chocolate.
Their sambajazz version of the Dance of the Knights from Prokofiev's "Romeo and Juliet" reminded me of that hilarious Tesco ad from a few years back, with the kolkhoz-looking ladies perched upon Soviet symbols, embarrassedly disposing of the chirping Tesco prices. I hope I'm not the only one unduly fascinated by this (it doesn't seem to exist on youtube). The relationship between capitalism and communism hasn't been this "poignantly" expressed since Marx' ghost visited Hitler in 1932 and wanted his ideas back.
